Participant Comments

After taking the Concealed Carry Practices course with Mike, I feel much more confident and comfortable about using a handgun. Before this course, I had very little experience with a handgun or any gun for that matter. Mike took the time to show me how to properly use and handle the gun, safe practices, laws, and individualized instruction to improve my shot. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning more about the proper techniques of shooting and handling a handgun. The drills were excellent and exciting!! With the knowledge I brought out from the course I want to learn more about improving my skills. Stephanie South Boston, Virginia

I thoroughly enjoyed the training I received at the Southern Virginia Defensive Firearms Institute. Mike Oberman was extremely knowledgeable and proficient, providing excellent advice and tips throughout the day. I picked up new techniques that will greatly enhance my success and survivability in a "real" defensive situation. Mike is very flexible and willing to answer all questions to the fullest, oftentimes including personal anecdotes and real-life experience in his responses. I would fully recommend Mike Oberman and the Southern Virginia Defensive Firearms Institute to anyone desiring an affordable firearms training class taught by well-trained instructors with the drive to provide their students with the most comprehensive and effective training available! Thanks again for all of your help!
